Welcome to Aching Hearts, Empty Arms.

Aching Hearts, Empty Arms  is a website for parents who have suffered the pain of any type of miscarriage,  or medical termination and is run by parents who have experienced the same suffering. The aim of this website is to provide much needed support to mums and dads who have lost a much wanted and loved baby before term. We want parents to join us and let us share the burden of their grief.  We want parents to know that whatever they are feeling is perfectly normal and we want parents to be able talk about their lost angel as much as they need to. I’d like to share my experiences with you and to explain how the idea for this website came about.

My name is Kate and I have had 4 miscarriages.  I’ve had 2 chemical pregnancies and 2 missed miscarriages, 1 of which was discovered at 9 weeks and was a twin pregnancy and the other which was lost at 13 ½ weeks.

My twin pregnancy only ended 3 weeks ago and I felt so strongly about the lack of support I received in general that I decided to set up a website specifically for this purpose.  I felt that I couldn’t really discuss the loss after only a few days of it happening.  I felt that I was just expected to “get on” with life in general whilst forgetting about my lost babies.  I felt that it is hard enough to go through any kind of loss but to be expected to just move on and forget about it is unfair.

So, please mums and dads who have suffered this loss come and join us.  We have both male and female parents on board to help and support you in any way possible.

Thank you,
Kate
